A first look at Dr. Marty Nature's Blend Healthy Growth Freeze-Dried Meal for Puppies — what makes it different, who it suits, and where it falls short.
Quick answer
Dr. Marty Nature's Blend Healthy Growth is a freeze-dried raw puppy food that combines premium meat, vegetables, fruit, and superfoods to support muscle and cognitive development. It works best as a complete meal for puppies on a raw diet or as a high-nutrition topper, but it may not fit every budget or feeding style.
What makes this formula different
Unlike many kibble-based puppy foods, Dr. Marty Nature's Blend uses a freeze-dried raw process that preserves more natural nutrients. The formula is built specifically for the puppy growth stage, when nutrition does the most work. It includes premium meat sources along with vegetables, fruit, and superfoods — ingredients you won't find in standard puppy chow.
Where it falls short
The biggest trade-off is cost. At a catalog comparison price of USD 36.99 (sold at USD 23.67), it costs more per serving than most dry puppy foods. Freeze-dried raw also requires proper rehydration and storage, which adds a step to feeding. If you need a budget-friendly or zero-prep option, this isn't it.
How to decide if this puppy food is right for your dog
- Choose as a complete meal if: You want a minimally processed, raw-style diet and are willing to rehydrate each serving. Feed according to the package guidelines for your puppy's weight and age.
- Choose as a meal topper if: Your puppy eats kibble but needs extra protein, moisture, or variety. Crush a few pieces over the existing food to boost nutrition without a full diet switch.
- Skip this product if: Your budget is tight, you need a shelf-stable dry kibble for automatic feeders, or your puppy has a known sensitivity to any of the included meats or superfoods. Always transition gradually over 7-10 days when switching from another food.
